Did my first ever photo session a few weeks ago with my friend Amit Gabbi who I met many years ago whilst working in Waterstones.

He's without website at present so contact me for his info.

First album of new material since 2020. Might even put this one out on cassette in a few months.

ANOTHER NEW BEGINNING

Another leaf on a family tree
Brought up on dirt
An heirloom was handed down to me
Of empty worth

An incapable love
I will never be enough for
A broken star at the window
Left in the dark of the family home

Another storm and the branches break
A river takes them to the sea
Pulled under waves they try to escape
And come upon a shore eventually

Their past lives they drowned
With new roots growing underground
And no history written yet
With no memories to forget
Flowers bloom at the window
As a new life starts to grow
Birds on branches sing
Another new beginning

ELASTOPLAST GASMASK

Masking tape forget all the faces
Covering my tracks and traces
Leaking like Red Dwarf in stasis
Better go and close the suitcases
You’ll never get to no new places
Like an animal on a farm grazes
Stumbling with tied up laces
Looking for another oasis
Waking up to go through the paces
Slowing down a day at the races
Brainwashing with average phrases
Poetry and drama need stages
Smiling no longer needs braces
With government and alien bases
Seeking to avoid all the tasers
Flowers boom and break all the vases

Etiquette forgets all the graces
Furniture allowing the lazes
Losing yourself inside mazes
Furnacing the fire as it blazes
Locking door of all of the cages
Frozen ice caps over the ages
Blowing up and watching the gauges
Fingers burn and turning the pages

KINDNESS

Playing games sure takes its toll
I have no more dice to roll
Lost everything in a hand I used to know

Thought I was saved ended up sold
Brought in the warm and left out cold
My heart was young but now it's getting old

And running out of time
Running out of lines for a story
There's no beat I can find
It's just a telling sign to ignore me

Losing things that I held dear
To grasp until they disappear
If they don't wanna stay then let 'em go

'Cause there's no game that I could play
That would ever make them stay
When I go all in they leave anyway

And there's no peace of mind
Telling me I'm fine to be lonely
I'll say another line
But take it as a sign to ignore me

I'm praying that we all will find
Somebody we can share our time with
Everybody deserves kindness
Kindness

ENDGAME

Eradicate all the weeds that grow
In a mind suffocate and overthrow
Keep the cells under control
Line em up into another row

Friendly fires face the foe
Shooting arrows with a stringless bow
While we sink when tides are low
Rising waters will someday overflow

In fortress jails we are reborn
Learning history with the pages torn
Lives we never had we mourn
As games are played blindly as a pawn

Some will aim for the other side
Some will try to find a place to hide
Some will confront attack and die
Some will survive inside a disguise

IN THE GARDEN

Administer a youth cure on cubed sugar
Startled horses stampede
Sketched by a ghost muse wearing ash boots
As velvet houses recede
Yeah

Inject thought replacement
Automatic creation
Shepherd treasures buried
Circus valentine
Echoes throw time
Joyless pleasures precede me

What came before the voice was ignored inside the garden?

Bloodied desk-beast
The lunchtime deceased
The primitive decrease slowly
Ringed bell commotion
Crowded demotion
The saints are marching endlessly

Falling through doors and the cosmic flooring
Bored underground and wait in rooms crawling for the stars to call
My books are erasing but one word is left

CORNERSTONE

If you ever feel alone or need to see a face
I will always be standing in this place
Take your time to roam exploring all the space
I will always be here, right in this place

Like a stone to sit on when you walk on the beach
You don't have to worry if the tide covers me
And even when you feel like things are out of reach
Often they are closer than they appear to be

So cover me in sand as hours turn to weeks
Underneath the ground lies mountain peaks
Blow it all away and like Gobekli Tepe
Things can still be found once they are seeked

So even when you feel like there's nowhere left to turn
And everything you desire to touch starts to burn
All the things that exist have their own role to play
Your story's here to teach you how to find your own way

So wash away the tears and wipe away the years
Look towards the sky, put your face to the sun
When nighttime comes around there's a moon that can be found
When there's no end to time there's no need to run

And if the world around us starts to collapse and fall
I will be right here if you ever want to call
Even though the heartbreak makes it hard to stay warm
Love's always appearing again in different forms

EVERYBODY'S ALWAYS CALLING ME

Everybody's always calling me
Everybody's always calling me
Why can't they let me be
Off the hook and ringing free
Everybody's always calling me

They don't learn I never take their call
They don't stop when I ignore them all
And even when I phone em back
They don't stop, they keep attacking me
Everybody's always calling me

All I want is some time alone
Away from dogs with electric bones
And instead of being at home
Oh how I wish that I were roaming

But everybody's always calling me
They seem to have insatiable needs
Will it ever be feasible
That picking up will end the trouble
Everybody's always calling me

They think I live in a silicon room
And exist inside a handheld tomb
But there's a place that I could wander
And see a rainbow over yonder

Everybody's always calling me
But I'm away with the fairies, birds, and bees
And now I keep my phone turned off
Cause what I give won't ever be enough
Everybody's always calling me

EVERDON

Everything was peaceful in Everdon
Talking to the chicken in Everdon
Eating mushrooms
No heat in our rooms

Twisting ankles, run in fields in the morning
Arguing with takeaway men some evenings
Shivering showers
Smoking flowers
Sunstroke drinking
Mattress sinking

Don't be sad, fungi was had in Everdon
We took the weed and spread the seed in the garden
And flowers will grow
The wind will still blow
The lambs will still baaaa
By the warhtaar

ENDING SCENES

The ending scenes have just begun
With no footage left to run
And actors pretending
They could be anyone

As the sun sets on the cast
Sand inside the hourglass
Is always descending
And turning to the past

Lives we watch upon the screen
Reels of film spinning through the light
That keep us focused on photographs
Dreams and memories fill up the night

We can live in nostalgia
And buy the memorabilia
Stay locked in the screenings
Of our private cinema

Play the movie over again
Change the lines and editing
Another new story
We can begin again

The lives we watch on the screen
Reels of film spinning through the light
Keep us focused on photographs
Dreams and memories fill up the night
